Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing

At Our Lady of Lourdes CMAT, we are committed to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of all staff across our 36 schools and within our central team. We recognise that positive mental health is essential for personal and professional fulfilment, and we actively promote a culture where wellbeing is valued and supported.

Our Commitment to Adult Mental Health

As a Trust, we take a proactive approach to staff mental health and wellbeing by:

  • Creating a culture of care where all staff feel respected, supported, and valued.
  • Providing access to professional resources and external support networks.
  • Encouraging open conversations about mental health to reduce stigma and promote wellbeing.
  • Offering training and development to ensure staff can recognise and respond to their own mental health needs and those of colleagues.
  • Recognising workload pressures and striving to implement policies that promote a healthy work-life balance.

Trust-wide and School-Based Support

Each school within our Trust has designated Mental Health Leads who provide direct support to staff and signpost to available resources. These key individuals are trained to help colleagues navigate challenges and access further support where needed.

Alongside school-based support, Fiona McGinty is the Trust Lead for Adult Mental Health. She provides training, resources, and guidance to staff across our schools, ensuring that every member of our community has access to the support they need. Fiona is also responsible for delivering Adult Mental Health First Aider training, equipping staff with the skills to recognise and respond to mental health concerns in themselves and others.

Our Trust is committed to ensuring that all staff feel supported, whether through in-school wellbeing initiatives, professional development, or access to confidential external services. We encourage staff to reach out to their Mental Health Leads, line managers or HR advisors for guidance at any time.

By embedding mental health and wellbeing into our schools, we strive to create a positive, supportive working environment where all staff can thrive and continue making a meaningful impact on the lives of our students.
