Student Mental Health and Wellbeing

At Our Lady of Lourdes CMAT, we are committed to ensuring that every student receives the support they need to flourish academically, socially, and spiritually. We recognise that positive mental health is essential for students to reach their full potential, and we actively embed wellbeing into every aspect of school life.

Our Commitment to Student Mental Health

As a Trust, we take a proactive approach to mental health and wellbeing by:

  • Creating a culture of care where students feel safe, valued, and supported.
  • Empowering student voice to ensure young people have a say in decisions that impact their wellbeing.
  • Providing early intervention and access to professional support when needed.
  • Equipping students with life skills through our curriculum to build resilience and emotional wellbeing.
  • Working closely with families and external professionals to offer comprehensive support.

Trust-wide and School-Based Support

Each school within our Trust has designated Senior Mental Health Leads who oversees’ the school provision for mental health and wellbeing, to ensure effective provision for students and staff. These key individuals are trained to recognise, respond to, and support mental health needs within their school communities.

Alongside school-based support, Helen Flint, Assistant Headteacher at All Saints’ Mansfield, is the Trust Lead for Student Mental Health. She provides Youth Mental Health First Aider training, resources, and guidance across our 36 schools. Helen works closely with staff, students, and families to raise awareness, develop mental health initiatives, and ensure high-quality support is in place for all young people.

For guidance or support, students and parents can:
